First Academic Summer Camps a Success
This summer marked the first time multiple Academic Summer Camps were held at and sponsored by Valley Lutheran High School. Nearly 100 campers participated in three 4-day camps in band, art and outer space. Lindsay Meyer, director of the award winning Symphonic Band, Jay Kaelberer, VL art teacher, and Steve Zill, VL religion and science teacher, enlisted the help of current VL students and alumni to give campers the opportunity to try something different this summer.
Band campers received instruction on their instruments and learned to make their own music. Art campers tried different materials and had the opportunity to make pottery. Science campers enjoyed a successful rocket launch!
Initial plans are already being made for next year. Watch this space for enrollment information next spring.
