Volunteers are an important part of our success at Valley Lutheran High School. Whether it is volunteering to help a student who struggles in the classroom, or assisting at athletic contests, or helping to run a fundraising project - your gift of time and energy help to make Valley Lutheran a better place.
Currently volunteers are needed in the following areas:
Special Needs
Contact: Lisa Meyers
Often students need just a little one on one help to find success. Helping a student complete homework can make all of the difference in the world.
Game Assistance & Field Maintenance
Contact: Kurt Hofmeister
Taking tickets, selling concessions, keeping score, or announcing are some of the ways that you can help. If you like being outdoors and getting fields ready for play, this may also be for you. It is a great opportunity to get to know people who are doing a good thing.
School Store
Contact: Booster Club
This is the perfect volunteer job for parents who pick their kids up after school. Help is needed from 2:15 until 3:45 each day. You can help one day a week, one day a month, or every day if you would like. It is a chance to get to know the kids at school.
Parent Organization Projects
Contact: Parent Organization
Each year the Parent Organization hosts several major events from which they earn the money to meet their goals. This year those events include the sale of Entertainment Books (September), the Fall Bazaar and Luncheon (November), the Pig Roast (February), and the Saginaw County Antiques Society Show and Luncheon (March). These projects need everything from event organizers to day of the event assistants.
Booster Club Projects
Contact: Booster Club
Each year the Booster Club hosts several major events from which they earn the money to meet their goals. This year those events include the Citrus Fruit Sale (October-November) and Chicken Bar-B-Que. In addition, the Booster Club serves concessions at home athletic events and operates a "school store" serving snack items to students after school. These projects need everything from event organizers to day of the event assistants.
Symphonic Band and Golden Voice Tour Chaperones
Contact: Paul Eschmann
The Band and Choir tour the Midwest each year during Lenten Season. With nearly 100 students participating in this event, it is important that we have parent chaperones in addition to the Symphonic Band and Golden Voice directors.
