AP Classes and Testing

Valley Lutheran High School offers students the opportunity to take part in college-style courses through its Advanced Placement program. Participating students experience a rigorous classroom environment and workload similar to that of a comparable college course. They develop academic independence, while supported by a close-knit team of peers and a trained instructor. AP courses emphasize successful application of skills rather than memorized content, and prepare students for college-level course expectations. The College Board organization has approved the following Valley Lutheran courses as Advanced Placement level. Descriptions of each course are available on our Course Descriptions page.
• Biology
• Calculus
• English Language
• U.S. History
• Spanish Language
• Studio Art

Students who participate in Advanced Placement courses are expected to take the associated AP test in May. For Studio Art, a portfolio submission will replace a written test. The dates for this year’s exams are available on the College Board website.
