Tuition & Financial Aid

The highest quality Christian education is more vital than ever for the Great Lakes Bay Region and our world. Tuition is an investment in your child and an investment in the future.  We know that affording tuition can be difficult though, that’s why we do everything in our power to help families of all backgrounds who want their children to grow and lead at Valley Lutheran High School.

Student tuition and congregational funding provide 80% of Valley Lutheran High School’s operating budget. Additional support and resources come from the Valley Lutheran Foundation, annual fundraising events, the Parent Organization, the Booster Club, and from many individuals and groups who actively support the school financially and through their time, talents, and prayers. It is through the efforts of these many friends of Valley Lutheran High School that tuition is less than the actual cost of education, which is in excess of $12,500.

Please contact us if you need help understanding your financial options — we’re here to help.

2023-24 Tuition Rates

  • International Students: $12,500
  • Community Members: $8,750
  • Non-Association LCMS Member: $8,400
  • Non-LCMS graduate of an LCMS elementary school: $8,400
  • VLHS Association Church Member: $7,200
(Note: We are grateful to the Association churches who partner with us in education and make this rate possible for their member families.)

Enrollment & Re-Enrollment Fees

An Enrollment Fee or Re-Enrollment Fee is in place for all students. This fee is not part of tuition, and it is designed to make a clear distinction that a student’s enrollment is guaranteed once this fee is paid.

  • Current VL Students: The Re-Enrollment fee is $100. However, this fee will be waived if the Re-Enrollment form is submitted by the stated deadline.  (For 2023-24 this deadline is March 2, 2023.)
  • Incoming Freshmen/New Transfer Students: The Enrollment fee is $100 and cannot be waived.

Financial Aid

Valley Lutheran High School seeks to serve all students who desire our Christ-centered educational program, regardless of financial situation. If you want to attend Valley Lutheran High School, we want you here, too. Thanks to the support of generous donors, Valley Lutheran High School is able to offer financial aid to families with a demonstrated need.  Your most recently completed tax return is necessary to complete the application.  This should be the tax return for the year previous to the school year for which you are enrolling.

Applications for financial aid are to be submitted online to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment for processing and evaluation. There is a $35 processing fee.

If you have any questions or concerns about paying tuition, please contact us at (989) 790-1676.
