Chapel – 4/1/20

Happy April 1st!   This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

This is a strange Spring, isn’t it?  The activities I normally associate with Spring aren’t occuring in the normal fashion – buying and planting flowers, watching Spring sports practice, going to an Easter worship service.  But if you really look, the signs of Spring are there. It stays lighter longer, the trees are starting to bud and the grass is turning green. God’s creation is showing its wonder. Look a little farther and you can see other signs of life and love.  People are reaching out to check on their friends. Others are offering to shop for those who cannot risk going to the store. High school students are forgoing their normal social activities to help protect the most vulnerable. Health care workers are continuing to take care of those who are sick.  Once you start looking for the hand of God at work through His people, you find it everywhere. Taking that approach helps us to see the light that is still here rather than focus on the darkness of this uncertain time. Look around and see His light!

But you blew with your breath,
and the sea covered them.
They sank like lead
in the mighty waters.
Who among the gods
is like you, Lord?
Who is like you—
majestic in holiness,
awesome in glory,
working wonders?

Exodus 15:10-11

Song: Wonder by Hillsong

Prayer:   Dear Lord,  Help us to see the world that you have created and the wonder that you provide every day.  Show us the good and help us to share your love with others especially now when things are difficult.  We thank you for Spring, for all your many blessings, and for your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Post something you are thankful for on our VLHS Thankful Wall.
