Chapel – 4/3/20
Thanks Dr. Meyers for this message.
Are you being bombarded by information about the COVID-19 crisis? The news stories are non-stop and they can be very scary and stressful. A couple things we need to remember….first of all, God is in charge and is almighty and continues to watch over us as individuals, as families, and as nations. Secondly, we are not alone in this – we have a strong community in the VLHS family.
If I can make a recommendation that has been helpful in my house….avoid reading/watching every news report that shows up on your TV or computer. If you want to stay informed, pick one time each day to search for articles/videos from a trusted source. And balance out that with other reading (devotionals or the Bible) and watching (check out the great wealth of Christian music available). Here is a great verse for today from Psalm 107:28-30:
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he brought them out of their distress.
He stilled the storm to a whisper;
the waves of the sea were hushed.
They were glad when it grew calm,
and he guided them to their desired haven.
Watch: Praise You In This Storm, by Casting Crowns
Prayer: Dear Lord, I praise you for all you are. You are almighty and all-powerful and are taking care of us daily during this time. Help me to keep focused on You and your Word even though there is so much that is competing for my attention. Please bless my family and keep them safe and healthy. Thank you for sending your Son who can calm the strongest storm. In His name, Amen.
