Thanksgiving Moment

November 27th, 2019

Thanksgiving services in the farming community meant a full church. Grateful farmers celebrated the harvest by offering thanks to God, the provider of the harvest. This service was even more special when a two week old baby girl was baptized. She was the youngest of five with the eldest child being all of seven years old. As if that wasn’t enough of a challenge, 3 of her siblings stayed home with Dad. They had the chicken pox. And yet there was plenty of room for thanksgiving.

  • When the Lord provides a plentiful harvest – Give Thanks Unto the Lord.
  • When the Holy Spirit provides the gift of faith – Give Thanks Unto the Lord.
  • When Jesus calms life’s storms (or chicken pox epidemics) – Give Thanks Unto the Lord.

This Thanksgiving – “Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good and his steadfast love endures forever.” (Psalm 118:1 ESV)

Happy Thanksgiving!
