Attention Students:

  • Congratulations to our Girls Volleyball Team! State Final Four! In order to be able to continue to show our support of the volleyball team, there will be no school Friday, Nov. 22. (See below for more details)
  • Operation Christmas Child packing will now be Monday morning. Please bring your items then.
  • Seniors: Mr. Fox from Herff Jones will be here during lunch hours today for your graduation orders. Please return your forms to him.
  • Bowling tryouts will be held today, and Tuesday, the 26th. All times are 3:30-5:00pm at LeFevre’s bowling alley. Parent meeting for those on the teams will follow the week after Thanksgiving, TBD.
  • The VLHS Instrumental Fall Concert will be held on November 24th, here in the gym at 3:00pm. Come enjoy beautiful music presented by our talented music students!
  • Seniors, let’s celebrate those acceptance letters! Please bring a copy of your acceptance letters to Mrs. Mueller in the office so we can highlight all of the great places our seniors might be headed! Don’t have a copier? Bring in the original and Mrs. Mueller will make a copy for you so you can keep the original for your scrapbook.
  • Looking for volunteer opportunities for your resume? The Salvation Army is looking for help for various activities as the holidays approach. See Mrs. Mueller for more information.
  • Students Leading Students will be meeting this afternoon from 3:15-4:00 pm in the Art Room. All students interested in encouraging their peers are welcome to attend.
  • Bonjour! Today is your last chance to purchase Thank You Grams to let others know how much you appreciate them! They will be handed out during lunches the Tuesday before Thanksgiving break.
  • We have 30 extra boxes of fruit ordered, and this year’s total sales are 412. Thank you for your participation!
  • Thank you to all who donated diapers, they are greatly appreciated! As always, Protect Life meets Fridays in the RC during meeting time for anyone that wants to join.

Volleyball Fan Bus, Friday November 22, 2019:

  • Game begins at 12pm at the Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek. Admission is $8, paid at the door.
  • Sign up in the school office no later than 3:30pm on Thursday. There are only 8 available spots left!
  • When you sign up, you will receive a permission form that needs to be completed by a parent and returned to the office ASAP. If you are not planning to ride the fan bus back from the game, please indicate that on the permission form.
  • Fan Bus will leave VLHS at 8:30am on Friday, Nov. 22nd. We will return after the conclusion of the game.
  • We will not stop for food on this trip. You are encouraged to bring a lunch/snacks for the bus ride or plan to purchase food at the game.

  • Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss St. Saginaw, MI, is hosting the annual Boar’s Head Festival on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7:30p.m., and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Enjoy celebrating the arrival of the Christ-child in a unique way with choirs, orchestras, and people of all ages. Set in Medieval times, the Boar’s Head Festival has a musical flair that reminds people of a Renaissance Fair but with a sacred tone. No tickets are required, but we do take a freewill offering.
  • Immanuel Lutheran Church of Frankentrost will host its 23rd annual “Living Nativity – A Journey to Bethlehem”, on Friday, December 6th from 7-9pm, and Saturday & Sunday, December 7-8th from 6-8pm. Experience the sights and sounds of Bethlehem on that blessed night when Jesus Christ was born. This is a free 30 minute outdoor walk, so dress for the weather. Fellowship and refreshments will follow in the school.
