The Simple Manger

December 24th, 2019

simple manger in a foggy glow

The children’s choir joined the adult choir for a special Christmas concert that year. The music was challenging as the young director clearly had gifts that would lead to a long career in choral directing. There was plenty to remember, but these words composed by another young director always stuck.

Christ lay in common manger for him a place unfit.
But it was hallowed when God’s son the Savior lived in it.

My heart is like that manger, no place for Christ to be
But this my joy at Christmas time, the Savior lives in me.

May the Savior grant you His Peace at Christmas and every day!
