Tuition & Financial Aid

An investment in your child. An investment in the future.

The Big Picture

On a firm foundation, Valley Lutheran graduates are prepared and equipped for their unique futures, and ready to excel and lead. Instead of ‘how can we afford a VL education’, the question in today’s world might instead be, ‘how could we afford not to?’

Valley Lutheran is blessed by God’s provision, prudent fiscal management, the generosity of many, and unwavering family commitment. We remain grateful to:

• the 16 member congregations of the Valley Lutheran High School Association who make regular payments on behalf of their members resulting in direct savings for association member students.

• the Valley Lutheran Foundation that provides valuable Financial Aid funds distributed annually.

• the many donors whose support provides the margin of excellence in our school programs and supports our Financial Aid programs.

• the many volunteers who serve in a variety of ways to support our programs and students.

It is through the efforts of these many friends of Valley Lutheran High School that tuition is less than the actual cost of education, which is in excess of $12,500.

We believe the value of a Valley Lutheran education in the life of your child is worth it. And we trust you do too.

Enrollment & Re-Enrollment Fees

A Re-Enrollment/Enrollment fee is part of the Re-Enrollment/Enrollment process.  This fee is not part of tuition, but is designed to make it clear that a student’s enrollment is guaranteed once this fee is paid.

Current VL Students: The Re-Enrollment fee is $100. However, for the 2025-26 school year, this fee can be waived if the Re-Enrollment process is completed by March 7, 2025.

Incoming Freshmen/New Transfer Students: The Enrollment fee is $200 and cannot be waived.

Financial Aid

Our financial aid program is available to families with a demonstrated need. If your family has need please allow us the chance to partner with you by completing a financial aid application online here.

Your application will be processed and evaluated by FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. There is a $35 processing fee, and your most recently completed tax return is necessary to complete the application. This should be the tax return for the year previous to the school year for which you are enrolling.

The Financial Aid application deadline for returning families is May 16, 2025.

Payment Options

Families may elect to pay 11 monthly no-interest tuition installments by check or electronic funds transfer (EFT). The first payment is made in July.

Full Pay Discount Program

Families receive a $100 discount if tuition is paid in full by the stated deadline. For the 2025-2026 school year the deadline is Monday, September 15, 2025.

Families who receive Financial Aid or who have already pre-paid tuition for the school year are not eligible for the full pay discount.

Pre-Paid Tuition Program

Families can lock-in and pay for future years’ tuition at current rates through our Pre-Paid Tuition Program. The details of this program are available here and the contract here.

Churchworker Discount

If a parent of the student is a professional church worker who is a pastor, formally called or contracted K-12 teacher, or formally called to another position at an LCMS church, they may be eligible for the Churchworker Discount.  This discount is equivalent to 10% of the tuition rate after the VLHS Association Member Credit is applied.
